Maui, Crater Day

Brian sent me and Christina to Maui Hawaii for a few days for a mom getaway. It was partly a birthday present, part Christmas, and part Brian just being amazing. Maui was an amazingly beautiful island and so much fun to explore... and so fun to do it with my sister-in-law! It was fun to go exploring and having adventures that can't be done with kids in tow. I know it was a big sacrifice for our husbands to take off work and hold down the fort so we could be gone. We totally appreciate them! Unless I was in the hospital having another baby, i haven't had a 'day-off' since we started our family. It was much needed.

Our first day I like to call our "crater day". We did a snorkel tour to Molokini which is a partially submerged crater off the coast of Maui. We saw tons of amazing sea life.

From Molokini, we were taken to a place called Turtle Town. After 4 times of being in Hawaii, I finally go to swim with sea turtles! It was amazing. The boat ride and water was a bit cold, but worth the discomfort for the experience :)

After getting settled into our hotel (these are the views from our room and beach right outside our hotel)....

...we went to the top of the other crater. A volcano called Haleakala. It was also very cold! We stayed for the sunset. We could only be outside for so long and then would go into the hut to warm up. Very cold!!
