For the record, this is not my belly. I've never been brave enough to capture my own and share it! In fact, I have very few pictures of me pregnant at all...maybe I'll regret that someday. Oh well, maybe next time around?
9 weeks left!! Since the day we found out we were expecting, it's been a countdown. I've been in the double digits for 31 weeks. 31 weeks! Can you believe it?!? Getting to this point makes me feel like that exciting day is just right around the corner... and ironically the time that passes from here on out moves so slowly!
I've vacillated between excitement and trepidation with baby #4....some days I can't wait, some days I'm just scared! Here is my current list of what I'm ready for and what I'm not:
What I'm ready for:
*To be out of pain on a daily basis from pregnancy related woes
*To lose weight!
*To meet our new baby boy!
*For labor/delivery- I'm totally ready- I love that part- it's so exciting!
*To be able to have longer breaks between restroom visits!
*To feel those first moments and days with a newborn- the spirit is so strong and I love it!
What I'm not ready for:
*Mid-night feedings
*two kids in diapers
*balancing a very young family of 6
*functioning during the day with no sleep
*postpartum squooshy-ness in my midsection!
I guess I'm ready for the major things that matter and for the other stuff, well, ready or not, it's coming!

Boys will be boys!
Of course these things happen on a Sunday night! The boys weren't even wrestling or goofing around which usually leads to accidents like this. Jackson wanted to play around with the vacuum... so, being that it was a Sunday, I let him do some "service" vacuuming in hard to reach places like under my bed- why not?!? I can't reach those areas right now with my pregnant belly in the way! Eli didn't see the cord plugged into the wall and he tripped-- landing on the sideboard of our bed. His ear took the brunt of the fall and he had a huge gash which was bleeding pretty good.
So- Eli got his first set of stitches (see the bandaged looped around his ear?). I guess I'm going to have to get use to this kind of stuff having three boys! We made a call to the Doctor who agreed to meet us down at his office (9pm on a Sunday night- he's the best! AND we got to avoid the wait at an ER). We rushed out the door and dropped the kids off at Grandma and Grandpa Beutler's on the way...
here are the stitches a few days after the accident...
We were all pretty rushed, so it comes as no surprise that Jackson stubbed his toe on the way in to Grandma and Grandpa's house. It was a bad one! So while we were taking care of one boy, the Grandparents were taking care of the other! Luckily Brian was there to hold Eli down while he got his shot and was getting stitched up (I had to do that when Jackson got his stitches and it was no fun).
A bonus to having a family Doctor, is that I was scheduled for my OB appointment the next morning, so Dr. Holmes did my check-up while we were there at the office for Eli's stitches! It was so nice-- and now my morning is free!
Anyway, I have to say I am getting more excited each day to meet little boy #3. I can't wait to see what kinds of adventures he will add to our family. Hopefully he'll be as handsome and as tough as his brothers!
